MARCH 9TH - AUGUST 27TH 2017
In keeping with its tradition of presenting international artists, the MAMC+ holds for the first time a monographic exhibition dedicated to the art of Peter Martensen, one of the great artists of the Danish scene.
Drawings, watercolors, sculptures, and videos are presented in the graphic art cabinet, while paintings are shown in one of the monumental room of the ground floor.
Peter Martensen was born in 1953 in Odense, Denmark. A graduate of the Academy of Ostend, he attended a course at the Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. He lives and works in Hellerup, north of the capital. His work is rooted in his fascination with human psychology. The title he chose for the exhibition says it all: "Ravage".
Commissioner: Martine Dancer, director of Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Saint-Étienne Métropole.
